Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Cadence, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Description of Service
Cadence is a mobile application for iOS and Android that allows people to create and manage shared calendars with unlimited members. Features include event scheduling, shared notes, event notifications, role-based access (owner, editor, viewer), and calendar sharing via invite codes.
Accounts and Authentication
- You must sign in to use Cadence
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
- You must provide accurate information when creating your profile
- You may not create accounts for the purpose of abusing the service
Acceptable Use
You May
- Create and manage shared calendars with other people
- Create events, notes, and share calendar invite codes
- Invite others as editors or viewers using separate invite codes
- Use all features of the app as intended
You May Not
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the app
- Use the app for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
- Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure
- Share content that is harmful, abusive, or violates others' rights
- Attempt to access other users' data without authorization
Shared Calendars
- Calendar owners can invite others using editor or viewer invite codes
- Calendars support unlimited members with three roles: owner, editor, and viewer
- Owners and editors can create, edit, and delete events and notes
- Viewers can only view events and cannot access notes
- Only the calendar owner can delete the calendar, remove members, or change member roles
- Members can leave a calendar at any time
- Free users can have 1 calendar; premium users can have up to 10
- You are responsible for the content you create within shared calendars
Premium Subscription
- Cadence offers optional premium features through in-app purchases
- Subscriptions are billed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store
- Annual subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date
- You can manage or cancel your subscription through your device's app store settings
- Lifetime purchases are a one-time payment with no recurring charges
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective refund policies
Data and Privacy
- Your calendar data is stored in the cloud (Google Firebase) to enable syncing between devices and shared calendar members
- We handle your data as described in our Privacy Policy
- Deleting a calendar permanently removes all its events and notes
- You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app, which permanently removes your profile, all owned calendars, and associated data
Intellectual Property
The Cadence app, including its design, code, and branding, is our intellectual property. You retain ownership of the content you create within the app (events, notes, etc.).
Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
- We are not liable for data loss resulting from service disruptions
- We do not guarantee that notifications will be delivered on time
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR:
- Data loss or corruption
- Missed events or failed notifications
- Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- Damages arising from unauthorized access to your account
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the app at any time if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the app at any time by deleting your account from Settings and uninstalling the app.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States.
